Virtual file manager

Shows files on the virtual and local storage location.

  • Select all - selects all items in the current folder.

  • Unselect all - unselects all items in the current folder.

  • Show - selects which file types are shown.
    • All - all files are shown.
    • Images - only images are shown.
    • Videos - only videos are shown.

  • Sort - sorts the files either A-to-Z or Z-to-A.

  • - indicates an image file.

  • - indicates a video file.

  • - indicates the format is not supported.

    When selecting a supported file type, a preview of the file shows in the preview window. When selecting an unsupported file type, the preview window indicates why the file cannot be read. For example, with a video file, the frame rate may be too high, or the video may have been created using an unsupported video codec. Please see Supported file formats.

Virtual file storage

Manages files in the virtual file storage spread across all NEC MediaPlayers in the NEC MediaPlayer network. The available space in this location increases with the number of connected NEC MediaPlayers on the network.

Uploading files:

Either drag a group of files into the control box or click and browse for files to show them open them in the virtual file storage.

Note:  Since files uploaded to this area are spread across all networked NEC MediaPlayer devices, when one of the NEC MediaPlayers is removed from the network, any of the files in its virtual storage will no longer be available to the rest of the NEC MediaPlayers in the network.

Device local storage

View and delete files on the local storage for the selected NEC MediaPlayer.

  1. Select one NEC MediaPlayer on the left side of the window. The screen refreshes to show the files on that NEC MediaPlayer's internal storage

  2. Select the files you want to delete.

  3. Click the [Delete] control.

  4. Click the [Delete] button on the right side of the window under the confirmation message.
