  • H.264 videos:

    • Videos with greater than 30 framerate (>30fps) cannot be played when the MediaPlayer is in Portrait orientation.

    • A black screen gap of 2 to 3 seconds may occur when transitioning from (>30fps) to (<=30fps) for still image / Web content.

  • H.265 videos:

    • This video format cannot be previewed.

    • Videos cannot be played in Portrait orientation.

    • A black screen gap of 2 to 3 seconds may occur when transitioning from H.265 to H.264 (<=30fps) for still image / Web content.

  • UHD video playback

    • UHD videos are supported and played in FHD resolution on the Compute Module 4. Upper limits of the UHD video framerate and bitrate are not specified at this time.

Network connectivity

The network connectivity depends on the version of the Compute Module.

  • Compute Module 3

    • Network connectivity to the Compute Module 3 is available through the LAN connection in the monitor.

       

  • Compute Module 4 Interface Board (DS1-IF20CE)

    • An Ethernet LAN port is available on the Compute Module interface board for direct connection to a network via a LAN cable.

    • Ethernet connection via the LAN hub in the monitor.

  • Compute Module 4 Interface Board (DS1-IF21CE) and a Compute Module 4 with wireless connectivity

    Note: a Compute Module 4 chip with wireless connectivity can be identified by the FCC/CE logos (see example below).

    • An Ethernet LAN port is available on the Compute Module interface board for direct connection to a network via a LAN cable.

    • Ethernet connection via the LAN hub in the monitor.

    • An external antenna kit can be installed for Wi-Fi functionality.

    Note: An external USB wireless adapter “dongle” can be used can be used with either the DS1-IF20CE or DS1-IF21CE Interface Boards to provide wireless functions.
